Lock Rekey

The most common reason for lock re-key is to have control over who can open the lock. If you gave someone a key and you want to prevent them from opening the lock, or if you lost your key, there is no need to change the lock. Just re-key the lock.

Re-keying a lock means, removing the current and existing pins and springs in the lock cylinder, and replacing them with new pins and springs. The new set of pins and springs is now adjusted to, and compatible with a new/different key. Although the lock looks the same, it is not, and ONLY the new key will be able to open the lock, that now is compatible with the new pins combination.

The lock with the new pins and springs will operate just as well as the one with the old pins and springs, if not better, because the locksmith will lubricate the lock and make sure it works flawlessly.

You can also have 2 different lock re-key to have 1 key open them.

As simple as it sounds, it is simple, but it requires a locksmith expertise, parts, and tools to do that, to do that good, and to do that fast.
